Earth is related to two aspects in the Mayan Culture: the earthly world and fertility, represented as a mother. Mayans didn’t have an Earth god, but the Earth was everything. For their crops they worshiped Chac, the god of rain, but without a doubt it was the land that they themselves chose that gave its fruits. The Mayans settled in the Yucatan peninsula in the year 2000 BC and ruled these lands until the year 1527 AD until the conquest of America. They adored these lands and felt a deep bond with nature and the animals that surrounded it, which was considered Sacred Land. A Community key for the human being with the environment, a sacred, unique and chosen land.
